For me a 1 horse race this year, Hamilton please accept your trophy.
Lewis Hamilton 1/7 - looks sewn up to me, 8 podium finishes already in his debut F1 season, a nice guy and a winner, what more could the public want? Frankie Dettori 7/1 Won the Derby this year after so many failed attempts, a nice guy who the public (noticably housewives) seem to like. But come on - he can't win it can he? David Beckham 16/1 not sure why 'golden balls' is even in the running, iffy form this year, though noticable improvement recently, and a well payed move to the football graveyard in the US.
Andy Murray 20/1 as we have probably seen the last of 'tiger tim' murray looks to be his replacement of Britains tennis hope. Though he hasn't actually won anything and he's injured most of the time. A failure to appear at Wimbledon this year (the only tennis tournament Brits think there is), must dismiss any chance he had in winning the sports personality award. Joe Calzaghe 40/1 I doupt it, his reluctancy to fight in the states, or any big name should scupper any chance.
Kevin Pietersen 40/1 has been England's best player this year, along with monty, however a poor world cup and memories of an embarrasing ashes, has to rule out any cricketer. Ricky Hatton 40/1 someone who i think should already have won the sports personality award, his crusade in the states this year is deffinately giving him the fights. A 4th round win over castillio and a possible clash with mayweather, though sadly i doupt he will win. Amir Khan 50/1 Not sure why he is in the list, a great talent no doupt, but he hasn't fought anyone decent. Demolition jobs of fighters ranked 260 in the world is no acheivement. Phil Taylor 80/1 not a chance, his dominance is slipping.
